It seems obvious to make yourself look presentable for your first, and consecutive dates, but it is surprising how obvious things are easily forgotten.

Bath Night
Whether it is your birthday or not, make sure you get a good bath before your date. There is nothing worse than turning up to your first date with a foul aroma, whether its your body odour or the smell of your pets. Make sure you are clean and odour free and you will encourage your date to stay a little longer with you.

Bad Breath
Halitosis, as its officially called, can be caused by many things, but can be a real turn off when on a date. Often you can not smell your own breath to find out if its bad or not, so consider the ways to combat it, even if you dont have it.

For information on treatment, causes and types of Halitosis see the link below.

Dress Code
Consider the type of date you are about to attend. Obviously if its a fancy dress event then you need to dress appropriately for the theme. If you are attending a restaurant you may need to dress up a little more than if you are meeting at the pub.

Should you were a Shirt and Tie? or for the ladies should you be wearing a nice dress with appropriate footwear?

Make sure you put some thought into how you dress for the date. Remember first impressions DO count, and how you are dressed will be the first impression your date will make.

Whatever you decide to wear, make sure that your clothes are clean and if appropriate, ironed !!
